Music Authority Instructor Brooke Sutton – Piano/Voice:
Brooke has been playing the piano and singing for as long as she can remember. Her love for music was sparked when her granny taught her how to play her very first hymn!
Her first piano lesson was when she was just five years old. She was taking piano lessons from local teachers who taught out of their homes. She mainly learned technique and hymns, but later on, she starting incorporating jazz and classical into her playing as well. Her first voice lesson was in 2012 when she first attended the Alabama School of Gospel Music. This two-week gospel music school, along with the North Georgia School of Gospel Music and the Stamps-Baxter School of Gospel Music, have provided Brooke with most of the experience that she has in music.
In high school, Brooke was very involved in the choral program and in musical theatre. She served as an officer her junior and senior year for both programs. After graduating high school, she spent two years at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee where she was studying Music Industry; piano being her main instrument. This was her first experience ever playing classical music. In the spring of 2019, she won first place in the Tom Naylor Memorial Competition at MTSU and also survived Music Theory lV with the only A in the class! While she was there, she made tremendous progress musically and achieved many goals, but now she is back home to teach music and to further her education at a local college.
Brooke has a true passion for helping others learn an instrument and watching them fall in love with music. Brooke loves to watch her students actively learn and she loves to watch the progress they make, all while inspiring them to pursue what they love!
