Ever since I can remember, music has been a huge influence on my life. At the age of 14 I picked up a guitar for the first time. A week later I had learned 3 songs and I knew that this music thing was going to have a huge impact on my future. After playing in churches and small bands all through my teens, I attended a small college in north Georgia and quickly realized that the traditional career path wasn’t for me. So after quite a bit of soul searching I made the decision to attend the Atlanta Institute of Music and follow my lifelong dream of making music for a living. It turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. After a year of intense study and practice I graduated in March of 2011 and jumped headfirst into starting a career in music. I quickly began playing more live shows and doing session work around the Atlanta area for different artists of varying styles and backgrounds, as well as teaching students of all skill levels. Teaching guitar has taught me a lot about not only the instrument and music, but how different people learn and approach music. It has expanded my musical tastes and influences and has made me a much better player! My passion is playing live, writing, recording and teaching and I’m very lucky to be making a living doing what I love. I play multiple styles of music including acoustic singer/songwriter styles, blues, rock, jazz and country. I’m constantly learning and moving forward, and I truly believe I’ll never stop learning when it comes to music.
