Music Authority Family Newsletter - May 26, 2026 What Level Are You? Do you know what level your student is? Music Authority is a leveled program where students move through levels to help parents understand their progress musically. We understand that many parents don't have musical training themselves so it might be hard for them to understand what kind of progress their child is making while in lessons. Ability to play alone doesn't always indicate progress - so does the understanding of complex musical theories and history. Our eight leveled program breaks down the material an exceptional student would learn in lessons through the end of high school. Each student learns the material in their current level, participates in a recital, and takes a jury (test) to complete their level.  If you're not sure what level your student is in, ask your teacher. Sometimes just a jury or a recital is all you need to complete the one you're in so that you can get your certificate and move on to the next! Melissa A. Loggins, Owner #MusicAuthorityFamily Click Here to Log In to Your Lessons Account Fall Rock Ensemble Registration Open Give your middle or high school student the ultimate experience in musical teamwork, confidence building, and education - sign them up for our fall Rock Band program! Registration is now open for fall classes. You Can Still Make it to July's Rock Camp Rock Camp happens twice every summer! These two camps are designed for students with experience on their instrument. Campers will be placed in teams (bands), will learn about various parts of the music industry, learn songs, and perform in a concert at Rosati's Pizza on Saturday night. You don't need to be a currently enrolled student at Music Authority to attend. There is limited availability for this camp, so sign up now to hold your spot! July 13-17 with a concert on July 18 The Music Authority Roadies The Roadies are a group of parents and adult students at Music Authority.  They meet the second Tuesday of every month at 6pm in The Backroom at Music Authority.  You can think of the Roadies as  Music Authority's PTO.  They sponsor special events, service projects, and work hard to make sure our teachers feel appreciated.  We welcome any Music Authority parent to come to our next meeting! Our next Roadies meeting will be on August 11 at 6pm in The Backroom.  We'd love for you to join us! For June's Rock Camp this year, campers brought in boxes of diapers and baby wipes to help fill the shelves at Because Mom Collective. The non-profit serves families in need in our community. Recitals are Important Recitals are an important part of learning music. They're also a requirement to pass your levels at Music Authority. A recital helps to build confidence in your ability to play, develops self-esteem, and is an opportunity to show off what you've learned to friends and family. Music Authority offers recitals almost every month of the year (but not July). Be sure to sign up early to secure your student's spot!
