Music Authority instructor Rebecca Van Rooyen - Piano and Voice
Rebecca is originally from Durban, South Africa and is now a resident of Cumming, GA attending school for her Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree with a Vocal Concentration at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega. From a young age, Rebecca found herself connecting with music educators from around the world and quickly developed a love for music of all kinds. She became involved in all the choral classes her schools had to offer and soon enough found herself applying to get her music education and enhance her musical career. She even attended Music Authority herself as a student from 2012 on. Rebecca is a former member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society as well as the Thespian Society and competed with her auditioned trio in events such as Literary and other district, honors, and All-State performances. She is a current member of CNAfME.
Rebecca works alongside many young musicians performing around the state in genres of all kinds such as choral, operatic, and even rock. She is currently booked to travel overseas through Ireland and England to perform Handel's Messiah with the North Georgia University Singers and Le Belle Voci.
