Music Authority Family Newsletter - January 4, 2022

Building a Bright Future

2021 had it's moments.  There were times when I wanted to throw my hands up in the air and say, "Are you kidding?"  It felt like for every two steps forward, the universe threw something new at us that sent us one step back.

But you, our incredible customers and Music Authority Family, stuck with us through every challenge.  From masks, limiting the number of people in a recital, barriers used in studios, to a full house at our Christmas concert and a fun New Year's Eve show, we've really been full circle this year.

Looking forward to 2022, I see a lot of hope and positive momentum.  We're almost back to our pre-COVID student numbers.  Sales have been up (huge thank you to everyone who shopped with us last year, your purchases help support our true love - our education programs).  Music Authority has some of the best staff around. We're excited to get started with the new year.

But, more important than my recollections on 2021, are yours.  What stood out to you about Music Authority this year?  What made you feel good about being part of the Music Authority Family? Where did we really shine? Where was the space for improvement? Continuing to improve is important to us. Let us know what you think. What was amazing? What wasn't?  Send us an email at makeups.musicauthority@gmail.com. We want to know what you thought of the last year.

What Are Those Books?

Have you ever wondered what those books are that are sold at Music Authority?  They're two series of novels written by our own Melissa Loggins (under the pen name Anne Schlea). The most recent release, Orphan of the Fallen, is the sequel to The Fallen.  This series is about Fallen Angels.

The Retribution Series is about vampires in North Georgia and might include some familiar locations.

Want to read them and not sure where to start? As the front desk and they can give you the proper reading order.

Marissa Cazut lives in the shadow of her parents, two Fallen warriors who gave their lives when she was only five.  Marissa, raised by her aunt, lived most of her life among humans and away from her people.  Now that she’s finishing up her final year of school, it’s time for her to make the most important decision of her life – does she follow her parents’ footsteps and become a soldier, or does she take the safe route and live in the security of a Fallen city?
When a new group of students comes to study with Marissa’s class, she finds out her friends may not know her as well as she thinks they do and the future she envisions for herself might not be as fulfilling as she imagines.  Will Nick, her best friend, convince her to stay in Orasul and make a life in their hidden city?  Or will Marissa’s new friendship with Tevin show her that she has the strength to fight?

Perfect Blend put on a sparkling performance in December's concert, One Winter's Night.  They're hoping to add an alto to their ensemble over the holidays and will start their spring season on January 10.  Their next concert will be May 7, 2022 in The Backroom at Music Authority.
