Local Purchases Support Your Local Community

I see the stickers, "Shop Local," all over town and social media.  Sometimes, it seems like nothing more than a trendy statement when it's so easy to go online and place an order while you're still in your bathrobe.

Honestly, I am a local shop, so I do my best to shop with local shops.  I purchase my pet food from Rucker.  I purchase meat from Ferguson's.

What does "shop local" mean when you purchase from Music Authority?

Sales at Music Authority allow us to intern and employee young people like Jake, Christian, and Will.  Your dollars help to provide jobs to members of the local community.

Your sales tax supports your schools, firemen, and Sheriff's Department.  It pays for roads and parks.

But it's so much more than that.  Music Authority dedicates time, money, services, and items to local charities.  We support CASA of Forsyth County, The Alzheimer's Association, Music4Chief, Girl Scouts, Meals by Grace, and The Forsyth County Humane Society, to name just a few.

The $5 you spend for a concert in The Backroom allows us to provide a concert venue for young people to develop courage and stretch their wings.

I don't expect you to purchase everything from us.  Far from it.  I only ask for the opportunity to earn your business.  Let us try to serve you.

The photo at the top of this article is from Rock Camp.  I have a fabulous staff and three amazing Teaching Assistants.  Almost every guitar and bass student at that camp had an ESP guitar, and almost all of them came from Music Authority.  Since 2004, you've been trusting us and coming to Music Authority's Rock Camp until it's grown to almost 100 campers over the course of the summer.

Thank you for the trust.  Thank you for helping us be a giving part of Forsyth County.

Why do you like teaching?  Teaching is a great opportunity to share a passion for music which allows the student and the teacher to grow as individuals.  Music changes the way someone experiences life and is an art form that enables expression through the good and hard times that one experiences in life.

What makes you excited about playing music?  Music is a chance to escape from what is troubling.  It can be used to build confidence to learn new skills.

What’s your favorite food?  Mediterranean

Where is your hometown?  Atlanta, Georgia
